Purple Yams

In the Bay Area, there is a lot of different cuisine. Eric and I have eaten Indian-French fusion, Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese food. The other day I had Korean tofu- very interesting. Another pharmacist I work with bought me purple yams to cook. Apparently, you can only buy them at special Asian grocery stores. They are a bright purple on the inside and taste really good. Here is a picture of ones that I cooked for us.

  2. It tasted really good- like a regular yam. It is good boiled or steamed. It is somewhat sweet. I'll fix one for you when you come to CA!
